Randwick tram testing times expanded

Thirty-nine trams are now stabled at Randwick with more scheduled to arrive in the coming weeks. The final trams are in production with the last one to roll off the assembly line very soon.

Driver training and tram testing is a key focus in Randwick as operations build towards passenger services starting in December.

Tram day testing times have been extended into peak hours between 9am and 5pm. Pedestrians, cyclists and drivers are reminded that traffic conditions have changed so be aware, there’s a tram there.

Drainage works around Prince Street in zone 24 are nearing completion. In zone 25 road restoration works around the High Street intersection are also almost finished.

In zone 26 teams are preparing for the final stages of the Ausgrid high voltage cables relocation work ahead of the final cutovers. Work is progressing to reinstate the footpath around the Prince of Wales Hospital entrance. Landscaping is also underway and nearing completion.

Reinstating High Cross Park in zone 27 is progressing with much of the compound removed and kerb, footpath and returfing works underway.
