Sydneysiders were today given a sneak peek of the Chinese New Year celebrations5 February 2019
The Haymarket Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Transport for NSW is hosting the first ever, Haymarket Heartbeat event on Sat 9 Feb from 11am to 7pm.
The event was launched with the Haymarket Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday 5 February, marking the first day of Chinese New Year.
All are invited to come to Haymarket’s Sussex, Little Hay and Dixon Streets on Saturday to be part of the free and family friendly Haymarket Heartbeat festival to celebrate 2019 Year of the Pig.
Haymarket Heartbeat, hosted by Haymarket Chamber of Commerce will centre around a live main stage between Sussex and Little Hay Streets, featuring a cultural fusion of performers from Mongolia, Korea, China, Thailand and Hong Kong.
Transport for NSW is proud to support the Haymarket Chamber of Commerce in bringing its diverse and large community together during this very important cultural celebration and continue to support local businesses.
Work on the CBD and South East Light Rail around Chinatown has progressed with barriers reduced significantly on George Street between Liverpool and Goulburn streets last year. More barriers will be reduced on George Street between Hay St and Campbell streets in time for the festival.
