Light rail bridge takes shape in Moore Park

29 August 2016

The new light rail bridge over the Eastern Distributor will take shape in the coming weeks.

From late September, major bridge construction will be carried out for about two weeks as the girders are put in to place to build the bridge platform. This work will be carried out at night, to minimise traffic disruption on the Eastern Distributor below.

Work on the bridge will continue both during the day and some nights over the next few months.

No parking is permitted near the worksite on South Dowling Street from mid-August to October 2016. This clearway zone was established to keep two lanes of traffic running northbound while construction work takes place.

Utility investigation and relocation work will continue in Moore Park over the next few months, up to and including the Alison Road and Anzac Parade intersection and Tay Street. The work will occur both during the day and at night for traffic and safety reasons.

Pedestrians and cyclists are also reminded that pathways have changed near Albert Tibby Cotter Walkway. Signs are in place to indicate new routes. Please note that the Moore Park West footpath, adjacent to Sydney Boys High School, has now been diverted (within Moore Park West) while tunnel construction takes place under Anzac Parade.
