Tunnel excavation under Anzac Parade will get underway in the coming weeks after the roadway was reinstated in April this year. With the tunnel walls and roof in place, we will start removing the soil before building the tunnel floor and portal.

Meantime, track slab installation is advancing on the Anzac Parade busway near Robertson Road with work at this location to be carried out over three weekends. Track installation is also continuing on Alison Road, between Anzac Parade and Darley Road.

Work is also forging ahead on Alison Road to construct the tracks that will connect the light rail route to the Randwick Stabling Yard, and to install tracks through the Alison Road and Darley Road intersection.

Night time closures of Lang Road are now in place to enable the installation of the light rail track slab across the intersection with Anzac Parade. Full closures are in place between 10pm and 5am only and will not take place during major events in the Moore Park precinct. Work is scheduled until Friday 7 July and stakeholders will be advised of any work taking place after this time.

Some footpath and pedestrian diversions will be in effect on South Dowling Street in preparation for utility work that will be carried out from early July.

Work is progressing in Moore Park West to connect the tunnel under the Moore Park playing fields to the Eastern Distributor bridge. Following excavation of the tunnel under Anzac Parade, the two sections of tunnel will be joined, creating our 517m connection between Surry Hills and the Moore Park precinct.
