Randwick taking shape

7 May 2018

The Randwick Stabling Yard, located on the corner of Doncaster Avenue and Anzac Parade, is almost complete. Work continues on the fit out of the maintenance building, lighting system and signage. Overhead wiring will be complete in May and the area energised in June.

Installation of the Australian Turf Club (ATC) fence in zone 24, along Alison Road between Darley Road and Wansey Road, was completed in April, as well as landscaping on the Randwick Racecourse side. Upcoming work will see the completion of the shared pedestrian/bike path, construction of a median around the Alison Road and Darley Avenue intersection, and continued landscaping along the light rail corridor.  The new shared pedestrian/bike path opened in late April.

Installing Overhead Contact System (OCS) poles was the focus in zone 25, Wansey Road between Alison Road and High Street, with nine poles installed and more to be done in May. Stormwater works and removal of the last of the existing Ausgrid network were completed this month. Gate 10 at ATC was also installed. All this work will support the completion of track slab work, expected to be finished in May.
