Nine Ways milestone9 May 2018
In early May track along Anzac Parade from the Nine Ways intersection to just south of Alison Road was completed.
The traffic switch in zone 28, Anzac Parade between Dacey Avenue and Todman Avenue, in early May means the worksite will now move to the eastern and western kerbs between Abbotford Street and Goodwood Street. Construction works will focus on undergrounding power and telecommunications services, widening kerbs, installing drainage and footings for new smart poles. Next month will also see the start of construction on the Todman Avenue light rail stop in this zone. This will include footings, slab and drainage works.
Temporary street lighting is progressively being installed in zones 29 and 30, Anzac Parade between Todman Avenue and Nine Ways. Existing light poles will be decommissioned as undergrounding of the existing electrical work is completed. These temporary lights will be replaced by new smart poles or street lights along Anzac Parade that will also be used to power the light rail network.
New footpaths continue to be built in zone 30.1, Anzac Parade between High Street and Barker Street. This will enable work to start on the eastern side bus layover north of Barker Street.
April also saw preparations ahead of next month’s track installation at the Kingsford Terminus in zone 31.
