Double track milestone4 June 2018
Zone 28, Anzac Parade between Dacey Avenue and Todman Avenue, reached a significant milestone with double track now installed from Tay Street to Nine Ways. The team will now focus on kerbside work to underground power and telecommunication services, install drainage and footings for new smart poles. Progress has been made on the Todman Avenue Light Rail Stop with drainage preparation, footings and slab ahead of concrete pours early next month.
Temporary lighting is being installed in zones 29 and 30, Anzac Parade between Todman Avenue and Rainbow Street, as existing light poles are replaced. New light poles and smart poles are being installed which will also power the light rail network.
In zone 30.1, Anzac Parade between High Street and Barker Street, work on both the eastern and western side of the UNSW bus layover is progressing. The completion of these layovers will allow work to commence on the UNSW Light Rail Stop in front of NIDA.
Progress on stormwater upgrades and installation of new kerbs continued during May in zone 30.2, Anzac Parade between Barker Street and Nine Ways, following a successful traffic switch. This saw live traffic lanes shift to the east and a work compound established on the western footpath.
Track installation has progressed in zone 31, Kingsford Terminus, ahead of work starting on the construction of the Nine Ways Light Rail Stop in coming weeks.
